AirTran’s just released a holiday travel promo that’s a bit confusing, but could result in a big bonanza if you plan to travel in groups during December and January.
Between November 30 and January 31, A+ Rewards members earn flight credits for themselves AND up to four extra credits for each person flying with them. The deal only applies to roundtrips originating in Atlanta.
This means, for example, that if you take a flight from Atlanta to New York City and back, and bring along your spouse and child for a weekend of shopping, you will earn five credits for that trip instead of the two you’d normally earn. (That’s two credits for your round trip, plus a bonus credit for each of the THREE people on the reservation: you, your spouse and your child.)
This could just as easily apply to a business traveler flying with colleagues to a meeting.
Best of all, these bonus credits count toward ELITE STATUS. And even if you are flying alone, you’ll earn THREE credits instead of the two you’d normally earn.
Traveling companions must also be members of A+ Rewards. You must sign up for the promo first: See www.airtran.com/themorethemerrier for sign up and details.
Wondering whether it’s worth it to go for AirTran Elite status given the recent news about it’s acquisition by Southwest? Be sure to see our post below regarding this.
