The Steven Penley (a noted Atlanta artist) painting presented by AirTran CEO Bob Fornaro to Southwest CEO Gary Kelly to celebrate their historic deal. The work depicts an AirTran 737 and a Southwest 737 with the Atlanta FAA tower, the Atlanta skyline, Falcons 1 tail, and several AirTran Atlanta sponsorships such as Georgia Aquarium, Woodruff Arts Center, Centennial Olympic Park, UGA, Georgia Tech, Georgia State, Atlantic Station, etc. What do you think?

I don’t think its too ugly, but I dislike the AirTran 737 on there. I know why its there, because Southwest uses the 737, but whenever I, and many people, think airtran, they think of the 717 aircraft.
I also just don’t like it because I was very unhappy with the news of the merger. Airtran in my opinion is the best low-cost airline around, and I will be very sad to see them go, also because I won’t get to fly the 717 anymore 🙁
But that’s just my opinion, but in general, a very interesting painting with lots of landmarks in it.
Frankly, it’s an ugly painting. Like something you would see in a greasy spoon next to a velvet of dogs playing poker.
