Today Google unveiled its long awaited new flight search tool. Take a look at the video and a spin through the tool and share your thoughts…do you like it better than your favorite online booking tool? Is this a game changer?
I like what I see…in typical Google style, its super fast, clean and simple, easy to understand, and unbiased. Right now it’s a work in progress, so there are no international flights, or options for one way travel. It also only displays Southwest flight times, but not fares.
What do you think? Please leave your comments below.
Nice, but without International cities, it isn’t of much use to me.
For me, it must have Delta pricing which is not currently being displayed. I also sometimes need to book multi-city flights which does not appear to be supported. I love the speed though and calendar & map views.
Oh yes…I love new toys – cool!
I cannot determine how to book a one-way flight. I could not find flights from Alamosa, CO to Denver, CO (ALS to DEN). I guess Great Lakes Aviation is too small an airline. Since I fly every week to both large and small airports I do not think that this flight tool will meat my needs 100% of the time.
How would you correct a mistake or make changes?
It has some interesting features, but the flight options display on hipmunk.com really can’t be beat.

I like the Google flights piece. It has Virgin flights on it which most other sites, like Kayak.com, don’t carry (I didn’t see Southwest). Thumbs down to the comment about it not giving info on a flight abroad – obviously anyone who doesn’t explore the site will be upset to find out punching in “London” won’t work. I like that you can measure price and date; I think it’s a really smart tool – just what you want to discuss with your travel agent! Mainly what I wanted to say was THANK YOU! For bringing this new tool to my attention. I will go there first from now on (unless I’m using miles hahahaha).
Like that I can see the flights but there are no prices for Delta which is what I usually fly.
eh…not too impressed…tried an atlanta to aruba flight and it told me no flights were available.
