Maybe! Check out this latest in a very popular series of inflight safety videos from Air New Zealand and leave your comments below.
Air New Zealand told TravelSkills that the safety video was shot over six days across a number of New Zealand’s Middle-earth locations, including Hobbiton and Central Otago, both of which appear in The Hobbit Trilogy. Behind the scenes creative talent from the films was also involved in the production of the video, including Weta Workshop, which supplied costumes and more than 150 make-up prosthetics, and Weta Digital, which created the visual effects.

I’m so tired of the airlines doing these “cute” safety videos. Entertainment has it’s place but I don’t think it’s appropriate for a safety video. It’s a serious topic that’s supposed to clearly communicate what to do in an emergency. Joking and kidding around with these videos diminishes the seriousness of the information not to mention they are often really poorly produced and generally awful.
The Air NZ one for their internal flights with the Sports illustrated swimsuit models was much funnier and more charming
How charming, but NO – as much as I love all things Middle Earth, All planes are supposed to be constructed like a bunch of grapes, with a framework like the stemwork and popout escape passenger pods like the grapes – it’s been on the table and sneered at FAR TOO LONG! Do it…make them do it, they can do it.
