San Francisco travelers can now use an app to order up a rental vehicle from Audi to be delivered to their door — but it’ll cost you, with daily rates starting at $165 for an Audi allroad, and going higher depending on the model you select.
The rate scale tops out at $1,195 a day for a V10, 525 hp R8 (if you think you can handle it).
The service is called Audi on demand, and it has launched in beta only within San Francisco’s city limits. You can download the app at the Audi on demand website and use it to register for the program and then reserve a car. Payment is made with a credit card.
When you complete your rental, you can have an Audi concierge come to pick up the car, or you can take it to an Audi on demand garage.
Audi said it expects to expand the program to other U.S. cities in the years ahead– but were just not sure if there are many more markets like San Francisco with a bunch of wealthy, sporty, carless entrepreneurs that could sustain those rates.
Would you?
