JetBlue passengers who are also members of Amazon Prime will soon be able to stream movies, TV shows and other Amazon entertainment offerings to their mobile devices or laptops in-flight.
This is a significant step forward for JetBlue because the current seatback entertainment options are not “on demand.” Instead, passengers must watch seatback entertainment on a set schedule- which can be frustrating at meal times, for example. With Amazon Prime video, you can start and stop the show when you want.
Amazon’s first entertainment partnership with an airline will give Prime members access to the programming at no cost over JetBlue’s free high-speed Fly-Fi in-flight broadband service. Access will be built into the Fly-Fi hub so members can quickly play Amazon entertainment selections on their personal electronic devices.

Not an Amazon Prime member? You’ll still be able to rent or buy “thousands of titles in the Amazon Instant Video store,” JetBlue said, including new releases and day-after TV shows.
Not into visual entertainment? Amazon Prime members on JetBlue will also be able to listen to their picks of more than a million songs from Prime Music; non-members will have the option of buying and downloading songs from the Amazon Music store.
The airline is currently in the process of deploying the high-speed Fly-Fi service across its fleet. It should be available on all JetBlue A320s and A321s this year, and on its Embraer E190s in 2016.
