Mai tais anyone? Virgin America’s new nonstops to Hawaii start this November. Here’s how to win two tickets! (Photo: Virgin America)
You’re a hard worker, and you need a vacation — preferably a Hawaiian vacation — and you probably don’t hesitate to tell friends and colleagues just why you need one. If you also don’t mind sharing your reasoning with Virgin America, you can enter to win that vacation, and a chance to hang with Sir Richard Branson while you’re staying in a posh beachfront home.
Virgin America is partnering with TravelSkills this month to get the word out that it starts flying between San Francisco and Honolulu on November 2, followed by the launch of San Francisco-Maui service December 3. To kickoff the countdown, the airline is offering a chance to win a Hawaii getaway for flyers who enter its #Hawaiiscape sweepstakes.
All you have to do is submit your Elevate number and explain why you really need a Hawaiian getaway at www.MakeYourHawaiiscape.com. Not an Elevate member? Sign up for Elevate here here – it’s quick and easy. Sign up for the contest here.
The first-prize winner gets TWO roundtrip tickets to Honolulu on the inaugural flight and a three-night stay at an Airbnb beachfront estate — hosted on the first night by Sir Richard himself. But that’s not all: While you’re in the 50th state, you’ll take part in all the inaugural hoopla and you’ll get a personal lesson in kiteboarding from renowned professional Susi Mai, a member of the ZOZI Gurus team. (Not sure exactly what kiteboarding is? Google it. It’s fun.) You’ll also get a GoPro HERO4 Session, the new lightweight personal videocam, as well as Avis car rental vouchers and a foldable Oru Kayak.
The second-place winner also gets two roundtrip tickets to Honolulu, participation in the inaugural activities, and three nights in an Airbnb home; third place earns two roundtrip flights to Maui and a fat $3,000 Airbnb credit. Both second and third place winners also get the GoPro camera, the Avis vouchers and the Oru Kayak.
Even if you don’t finish in the money, you’ll pick up 250 Elevate points – just for entering. So dig out your Elevate number, collect your thoughts about how badly you need that vacation, and share them with Virgin at www.MakeYourHawaiiscape.com. If you also share them with friends and colleagues via LinkedIn, Facebook or Twitter, you’ll get additional chances to win.
Virgin America’s Chief Marketing Officer Luanne Calvert said that Hawaii is the number one destination asked for by the carrier’s Elevate members. So with the inaugural service approaching, Virgin America decided to team up with Airbnb for a memorable promotion. “Both of our brands are about capturing the transformative aspects of travel — and we thought what better way to experience Hawaii than to do it at an Airbnb property with our Chief of Play Hard, Sir Richard,” she said.
Check out this tongue-in-cheek video of Sir Richard getting his Hawaiiscape on. Or ponder some of his Zen thoughts on the work-life balance in his LinkedIn Influencer post.
Aloha!
