United’s new web site is quite nice. Whoever designed it should be praised lavishly. But I noticed that it has an “expert” mode for experienced users, along with a curious warning that the expert mode may show inaccurate seat availability. How strange. I don’t think United wants people to use this… to activate it, you must dig deep into your search preferences and then check a box acknowledging that you accept the risks of using it. I tinkered around with it for a few minutes but couldn’t see any difference from the regular flight search.
