Low fares, weak-ish spring bookings, cheap oil and new low-fare competition have airlines dropping fares to jaw-dropping levels, but only on certain routes.
Here’s a handful of standouts:
SFO-Denver roundtrips on Virgin America or Frontier: $136, all in, and yes, that is ROUND TRIP, but only on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Let’s hit the slopes! Denver by air is faster than Lake Tahoe by car!
SFO-Seoul roundtrip on Singapore Airlines for just $499. Yes, over 11,ooo miles roundtrip for just $499. Plus there’s a $699 fare to Singapore. Good for trips March 1-April 15. Spring break in Asia? Why not? Details here
SFO-Las Vegas: $64 round trip on Frontier Airlines good now through end of April. Seriously folks. That’s $32 each way. Keep in mind that Frontier is now an “ultra low cost carrier” so you’ll be asked to pay for any extras.
SFO-New York City: $277 round trip on Virgin, JetBlue and American nonstops. Any time we see a Bay Area to NYC roundtrips for less than $300, we jump! Fares good in early March and all of April.
SFO/OAK/SJC-Hawaii: With Virgin America jumping in to the Hawaii market, fares have tumbled this winter, but are firming up for spring. Still, you can find roundtrips as low as $338-$398. And anytime we see fares to the islands for less than $400 we get all warm and fuzzy.
Note that some of these deals are not good in late March due to the peak Spring Break travel season. More on that here.
All deals checked and available on Google Flights on Wednesday afternoon February 10 and subject to change.
