Would you like to submit a short post about a recent travel experience? We’d love to consider posting it on TravelSkills!
Here are some things to keep in mind:
-Keep it short– 400-500 words maximum. (That’s about 4-5 paragraphs.) Trip Reports can be longer.
-Try to include photos – but we cannot guarantee that we will use them. They must be top notch– as good as the photos you see elsewhere on TravelSkills. (Photos must be your own, and we’ll credit them with your name or initials.) If possible, send photos sized at 730 pixels wide.
-No rants. Keep it polite and professional. And please include a bit about yourself– home town, job, why you were on a trip, where you were or where you were going.
-Try to make the post as useful as possible. Provide practical tips and advice. Include prices if you can.
-One easy way to organize your post, and one that seems to attract a lot of readers, is a list. Something like 5 ways to avoid airport lines or 6 key features of the perfect rollaboard suitcase.
-Let us know if you want to remain completely anonymous- otherwise, we will identify you by initials only. We will only use your full name with permission.
-We reserve the right to modify and edit your submission for clarity.
-We do not pay for Reader Reports, and do not guarantee that we’ll post every report we receive.

I just flew United 901 to London from SFO on the 747 & back on 949 on the ? plane. On both flights, the F.A.s were mostly great. They greeted us in Polaris Business Class. They paid alot of attention to us. We did not get the sundae. We got the small cup of ice cream. We did not have to obey the sit in seat while the seat belt sign was on. At SFO, due to the 3 classes of service on the 747, B.C. passengers go to use the 1st class lounge. At LHR, the showers were nice in the Arrivals lounge. Clean. The Cowshed products are nice. At LHR, on the way back, I visited the United, Singapore, & Canada Air lounges, all close to each other. I liked Singapore’s the best. Both Singapore’s & Canada’s lounges were not crowded. Overall, on my 1st Polaris business class trip, I was very satisfied. Oh, on the flight to LHR, I asked, & the F.A. gave me PJs & slippers. On the flight back to SFO, no PJs, but they gave me slippers upon my request. The food was good on both flights, but the rice with the beef was dry & crunchy. I was really looking forward to the sundaes, so that was a disappointment. In the 1st class United lounge at SFO, the food was very good, & the staff were quite nice.
Yikes! Thanks for sharing that. –chris
SFO-CDG, both ways in Bus First had a great cheese and grape plate after dinner, followed by a pretty good ice cream sundae with toppings.
In Jaunary I flew from EWR to SFO, First Class and asked for and served their salmon entree for dinner. The plate looked like a flattened bed of white rice, with the salmon thrown on, topped with a dollop of more rice, and a side of sliced zucchini and peppers. It certainly looked and tasted more like cafeteria food than First Class fare. And I also overheard in First Class, one flight attendant telling another that a passenger asked for a glass of prosecco and the she didn’t know what the drink was.
well i wish i could agree with the folks who approve of uniteds food standards i flew back from new hampshire late february to san francisco via ohare and i upgraded to the first class cabin to console myself the only food offering was a cold soggy mozzarella sandwich i just looked at it in disbelief all the best from pacifica tim owens
My wife and I have been going to Cabo San Lucas for eleven years now. We went there to have an eye surgical procedure done by our doctor in Atlanta. We loved it so much we bought the first two weeks of January at Pueblo bonito Sunset Beach. It was like heaven on earth until 2009 when the resort started going up on everything except service. I feel now that anyone who buys a time share is as Rush Limbaugh calls them “a low information voter” especially in a foreign country!
The first three years I rented a car for the whole two weeks. I now rent the day I arrive and the day I leave which saves me a lot of money and protects me from the “banditos known as Federales”. The Mexicans drive like a bat out of hell and wreck frequently, but I have only seen one car stopped with Federale in all those years o to Cabo where they value the Gringos and want us to come back!
Regarding the Wake Up and Eat Your Ice Cream….as a former F/a for a MAJOR intrntl carrier…we would not have doen this at this stage inflight, when most pax are indeed trying to sleep. We did have a refreshment service that was quietly delivered (alaong with a beverage run) and if anyone missed out…we were more than happy to provide upon demand. The F/a approaching the pax was rude and innapropriate, in my opinion. B Coath, Florida
